Nueces County and the Coastal Bend Emergency Management Association (CBEMA) are hosting the 12th Annual Coastal Bend Hurricane Conference, May 3–4, 2023, at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds located at 1213 Terry Shamsie Blvd., Robstown, TX 78380.
This year’s seminars, trainings, and briefings will include information regarding public safety, emergency management, weather, community planning and lessons learned from 2022. There will be more than 50 breakout sessions to choose from.
The conference goal is to increase awareness, preparedness, and protection of our residents and the population of the Coastal Bend. On May 4, there will be a free “No Registration Necessary” Tabletop Exercise at 1 p.m. that is open to ALL conference participants. Those who wish to only attend the tabletop exercise may do so without registering for the conference but will not have access to other conference activities.
The exercise is intended to reinforce the basics of hurricane preparedness. Previous conferences have welcomed more than 1,000 participants representing the full range of local, state, and federal government responders and policymakers, volunteer organizations, healthcare, private business and industry representatives. We highly encourage individuals from local school districts, home healthcare, nursing/assisted living, and banking to also attend.
Registration is $40 dollars per person and includes all activities and meals for both days. Registration closes on Friday, April 28, 2023.
