Civilian Defense Academy

The Aransas Pass Police Department is inviting the public to attend the first-ever Civilian Defense Academy. This 5-part series will give you the information and skills needed to protect yourself and those you care for.

Classes will be from 6 PM until 8 PM every Thursday in September, and dinner will be provided for participants from 5:30 P.M. - 6:00 P.M.

Registration will close the Tuesday preceding each class day or when the class is full.

The classes are as follows:

Sept. 1st, 2022—Civilian Response to Active Threats

Sept. 8th, 2022—Defensive Tactics

Sept. 15th, 2022—Stop the Bleed and Basic Medical

Sept. 22nd, 2022—Protecting your Residence Through Technology

Sept. 29th, 2022—Scenario Based Training (Active Threat Response)

All classes will be at the Aransas Pass Municipal Court, 645 W. Lott, Aransas Pass.

Our target audience is people who live or work in AP, but registration is open to everybody.

Special Note: You must be 18 years of age or older and in overall good physical health to participate in the Defensive Tactics and Scenario Based Training Classes due to to the physical activity involved in both of those classes. For the Scenario Based Training on Sept. 29th, long-sleeved shirts, pants, and closed-toe shoes are required.
