This event is to pay tribute to the passing of Kingsville Police Department's Sherman Otto Benys Jr. His dedication but also supports local domestic violence organizations.

This day commemorates the moment when Patrolman Benys tragically lost his life due to injuries sustained whilst responding to such a call.

Medals will be awarded to the top three runners in multiple categories.
