Awareness Event for Safe Bike-Riding

  • The Water's Edge 602 South Shoreline Boulevard Corpus Christi, TX, 78401 United States (map)

Bike safety is crucial for young kids as it helps prevent accidents and injuries, ensuring they can enjoy their rides safely. Teaching children to wear helmets correctly, use hand signals, and understand traffic rules instills lifelong habits that protect them on the road. It also fosters a sense of responsibility and awareness of their surroundings.

The Corpus Christi Municipal Court partnered with the Corpus Christi Police Department and The Juvenile Case managers to present the inaugural Bike Rodeo.

  • On Friday, June 7, parents and their children are invited to The Water’s Edge Park, located at 602 South Shoreline Boulevard, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. to learn about bike safety, get a goodie bag, and enter their names to participate in a bike giveaway.

  • On Saturday, June 8, police officers will give a bike safety presentation at The Water's Edge Park from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. Court staff will be present starting at 7:00 a.m. to give 500 free helmets to the first 500 children in attendance (they must be present to have the helmet fitted). At 11:00 a.m., a drawing for four bikes will be held. Participants do not have to be present to win the bicycles.
