Take a break from the holiday rush as nearly 100 tuba, euphonium, baritone and sousaphone musicians play everyone’s favorite Christmas tunes. This musical event promises “Winter Wonderland” memories to get you in the holiday spirit.
Area tuba, euphonium and baritone players interested in participating with this year’s Tuba Christmas can attend the rehearsal from 9:30 to 11 a.m. the morning of Dec. 18 in Room 127 in the Center for the Arts at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (6300 Ocean Drive).
Registration to participate begins at 9 a.m. with a $5 registration fee. Tuba Christmas carol books will be available during registration for $15, and hats and scarves will also be available for purchase. Musicians need to provide their own stands for the rehearsal and performance. This year’s conductors include Dan T. Sipes with Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, along with Master of Ceremonies filled by Del Mar College Professor Emeritus David Irving.
Free parking will be available at the university while street parking is available at Plains Capital Bank.
