Adaptive Swim Lessons

  • Collier Pool 3801 Harris Drive Corpus Christi, TX, 78411 United States (map)

The Corpus Christi – Nueces County Public Health District’s vision for every child and young adult who wishes to learn to swim, regardless of their ability to do so, is closer to becoming a reality.

The Parks & Recreation Department’s newly Adaptive Swim Whisperers®-certified instructors are gearing up to teach adaptive aquatics to individuals with autism, anxiety, sensory needs, physical challenges, and those who require a different approach to learning. The Swim Angelfish training teaches techniques to connect with students at their level and gain critical water safety skills.

The City’s aquatic instructors are excited to help persons with special needs overcome obstacles, become comfortable in the water, and learn to swim.

The Aquatics staff is working diligently to add Adaptive Swim Lessons to its swim lessons program. Classes will be offered this summer for one-on-one instruction. The fee is $50 for eight 30-minute sessions. To sign up, email bonniem@cctexas.com, to receive additional instructions.
