The community is invited to attend the 25th Anniversary Commemorative Ceremony of 9/11/2001 will be held in Kingsville, TX at Javelina Stadium. The ceremony will begin at 9 am with a VIP reception and honorary stair climb immediately following.
In attendance will be US Congressman Vicente Gonzalez Jr. (34th District, TX), and keynote speaker First Sergeant (Retired) Ulysses Bell Jr. Ulysses Bell Jr. is a Pentagon first responder who was a Sergeant First Class (SFC) assigned to Alpha Company, 1st Platoon, 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) and stationed at Fort McNair in Washington D.C. on 9/11. Mr. Bell and his platoon assisted in the recovery and removal of remains and debris from the Pentagon under extremely hazardous conditions in the days and weeks immediately following the September 11th attacks.
Middle and high school students from Kingsville and surrounding communities will be in attendance to learn about this important event in American history. Their respective high school bands will be performing several patriotic pieces throughout the ceremony as one, unified band. Honorary wreaths will be placed in honor of first responders and flags will be presented to three local firefighters who answered the call of duty and went to assist at Ground Zero.
