If you love writing, reading or both, the People’s Literary Festival is a collaborative celebration that supports both new and seasoned writers by bridging literary borders and genres.
Organizers of the 2004 three-day event, scheduled Feb. 22-24, at three different locations will bring writers and readers together for dialogue that honors self-expression and inspires creativity during sessions and activities scheduled during the festival at Del Mar College, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and All Saint’s Episcopal Church.
Del Mar College will host the first day of sessions on Thursday, Feb. 22, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Reading Lab on the Heritage Campus with several DMC faculty participating during the three-day event. Participants may attend one or all five sessions at Del Mar College, including at 11 a.m. Literature Exploring Mythologies and Literary Villains, at 1 p.m. Adapting a Short Story to an Audio Drama Script, at 2 p.m.
Voices of Latin-America/Voces de America Latin, at 3 p.m. These Neutral Sea Currents and at 4 p.m. Poetry for Therapy or Purpose. Remaining activities for Day 1 will take place at All Saint’s Episcopal Church beginning at 7 p.m. with a Corpus Christi Poet Laureate Panel followed by a keynote address, Migration as Our Essense, by Nkata Kwsi and then the Robb and Vanesa Jackson Award Ceremony for High School Poets.
