CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – (News Release) A schedule is now available for the re-mobilization work taking place this week at the Whitecap and Gypsy bridges. Construction activity may interfere with navigation while the barge is operating. Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to review the contractor’s schedule as the project progresses.

Schedule:

• Monday, July 8 and Tuesday, July 9: The primary focus will be preparing and importing boulder material for the project.

• Wednesday, July 10: The barges arrive on site and rock installation under the bridges may resume.

• Thursday, July 11 and Friday, July 12: Installation of armor stone under both bridges. Navigation will be restricted.

Due to the recently installed boulders, residents and visitors are reminded of the dangers of jumping off the bridges. The City is collaborating with the Public Works Department to install permanent warning signs to ensure public safety.
