Vehicles burglarized at Legends Apartments

KINGSVILLE - On February 25, 2021, several vehicles were burglarized during the early morning hours at the Legends at Kingsville apartment complex. Approximately 23 vehicles in the complex were entered and personal property to include firearms, purses, laptop computers, backpacks, and money were removed from within the vehicle. One vehicle was also burglarized in the Ranch View apartment complex.

After the crime scene was processed the Kingsville Police Department Investigations Bureau received a phone call from Nueces County District Attorney Special Investigator Mike Tamez. Investigator Tamez had conducted a lawful traffic stop on a vehicle. During the traffic stop Investigator Tamez located property that appeared to be stolen out of Kingsville.

Kingsville Police Department Detectives, Captain Vincent Murray and Sr. Det. John Greif responded to the Robstown Police Department. A search warrant was executed, and several items of stolen property were located within the vehicle. Criminal instruments to include a window punch, crowbar, and gloves were also located during the search.

Arrest warrants were issued for 22-year-old Tamaj Sylvester, 20-year-old Deaunjae Lampkins, and 24- year-old Cameron Bullen. All three subjects were out of the Houston area. Sylvester, Lampkins, and Bullen were all transported to the Kleberg County Jail where they were booked for the following offenses: 1) Felon in Possession of a Firearm, 2) Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, 3) Fraudulent Use or Possession of Identifying Information.

This investigation is still ongoing, and the Kingsville Police Department Investigations Bureau is asking anyone who may have noticed his or her vehicle was burglarized on February 25, 2021 to please make a report if a report has not been made. At this point in the investigation there are some recovered items of property that appear to be stolen, and the items of property have not been identified by the owner.
