TAMUK Math Professor Ranked on International Researchers List

KINGSVILLE, TEXAS (News Release) - Dr. Ravi P. Agarwal, who recently retired from his mathematics professor position at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, has been ranked by the international Research.com as one of the 2024 Best Mathematics Scientists in the World.

Agarwal was ranked 36th in the world and 26th in the United States. He is listed as having 53,173 citations for his 2,024 publications. In addition, Research.com gave him the Mathematics United States Leader Award in 2023 and 2024.

This is the third edition of the Research.com annual top mathematics research scientists’ rankings. The report aims to increase the online visibility of both existing and rising mathematics experts and to help researchers, academics, organizations and other decision-makers track expertise in a specific mathematics discipline.

For the 2024 report, the research team looked at more than 3,100 scientist profiles from various bibliometric sources.

Agarwal’s most cited publication was his 2019 document Difference Equations and Inequalities: Theory, Methods and Applications.

His research interests while at TAMUK were nonlinear analysis, differential and difference equations, fixed-point theory and general inequalities. He earned his doctorate from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, India.
