CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) - The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department is now accepting registration for its five different Summer Youth Sports Camps that will be held from June 7 to August 5, 2021, for boys and girls ages 6-16. These camps take place at the Corpus Christi Gym (3202 Cabaniss Parkway) and at a Sports Complex (location to be announced).

This summer, Basketball, Softball, Soccer, Volleyball, and Cheer-Dance camps will be offered. Children will be introduced to the fundamental skills of the sport and instruct them on how to play each game. New and experienced players will sharpen their skill set to advance their overall game through targeted skills training and practice using strategies and plays. 

All our highly trained and experienced instructors are passionate about their sport. Along with the sport skills, the children will be taught structure, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

ONLINE REGISTRATION is open now until the first day of each camp at https://register.ccparkandrec.com/The cost is $70 per camp per youth. Onsite registration is not offered. Don’t wait, register today!

New health and safety procedures will be implemented to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Face masks are required in the gym, except while playing on the court. Players will have their temperatures taken at the door prior to sign-in. One sanitized ball will be provided per participant for the whole camp session, so do not bring your own equipment. Hand sanitizer will be available. One spectator will be allowed per camp participant.

Summer 2021 Youth Sports Camps Schedule:

Basketball Camps (eight camps) with professional instruction by Roy De La Peña will be offered for boys and girls ages 8-16 of all levels as follows: June 7–10 from 1–4 pm;  June 14–17 from 1–4pm; June 21–24 from 1–4pm; June 28– July 1 from 1–4pm; July 6–8 from 1–5pm (3 days); July 12–15 from 1–4pm; July 19–22 from 1–4pm; and August 2–5 from 1–4pm.

Volleyball Camps (five camps) with professional instruction by Tommy Rios for boys and girls ages 8-16 from 9am–12pm on the following dates: June 7–10; June 14–17; June 28–July 1; July 12–15; and August 2–5.

Softball Camps (two camps) with professional instruction by Paula Salinas for boys and girls ages 6-16 from 9am–12pm will be offered on June 21–24 and July 19–22.

Cheer-Dance with professional instruction by Lyndsey Rios for boys and girls ages 6-16 will be offered on June 21–24 from 9am–12pm.

Soccer Camps (two camps) with professional instruction by Ifiok Ofong for boys and girls ages 6-16 from 9am–12pm will be offered on June 28–July 1 and July 12–15.
