CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — (News Release) The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department will close the Salinas Park playground at 1354 Airport Road for improvements beginning Thursday, July 18. Weather permitting, the playground is scheduled to reopen on November 15.

The purpose of the playground improvements is to restore the Fall Zone safety measures, which consist of removing the existing play surface, installing a new pour-in-place deck over the concrete, and making drainage improvements.

The total project cost is $483,267, with funding from the Park Capital Improvement Funds.

Salinas Park will remain open for patrons to enjoy other amenities like the splash pad, pavilion, walking trail, fitness equipment, basketball court, and sports fields. To maintain public safety, patrons are asked to be aware of cautionary signage and temporary barriers at the work site.

Patrons can also use the City Parks Interactive Map to find nearby parks with playgrounds.
