Safety First - Agricultural Airplane
Nueces County Emergency Service District 3
NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS (News Release) - Nueces County Emergency Service District 3 is asking the public to avoid stopping pulling over, using a four-wheeler, or walking out into the field when an agriculture airplanes plane is in use.
Stopping near the field creates a significant distraction and potential hazard. The pilots are operating at speeds of over 160 mph, navigating power lines and trees, and managing a full workload beyond that single field.
When someone is watching, pilots often have to adjust their work, which can be problematic or even force them to leave the field, wasting precious time and jet fuel before they can return. It also diverts their attention from their primary focus, which must be on ensuring the field is treated with complete safety.
If you see a puff of white smoke from the plane, it's a signal to please leave the area. This situation not only disrupts scheduling but is a direct safety concern for both you and the pilot.
To keep agricultural production running smoothly, please be considerate of the pilots' time and continue driving.
