Nueces County District Attorney's Criminal Interdiction Unit

Yesterday, on May 16th, 2023, at approximately 3:50pm Alice PD Officers responded to the apartments located at 2015 S. Cameron St. in reference to an armed robbery.

It was reported that two male subjects robbed 2 residents of the apartments before leaving the area in a black in color passenger vehicle. Surrounding Law Enforcement Agencies were notified and the two alleged suspects were stopped and detained by the Nueces County District Attorney Criminal Interdiction Unit and the Agua Dulce Marshall in Driscoll, Texas.

The alleged suspects were then placed under arrest and transported to the Jim Wells County Jail. The alleged suspects were identified as Jonavon Moore and Landon Cantu.

The stolen property was recovered as well as firearms.

DRISCOLL (News Release) - On May 16, 2023, the Nueces County District Attorney's Criminal Interdiction Unit (NCDA-CIU) was able to assist Alice Police Department in capturing 2 suspects that had committed a robbery in Alice.

Officers and deputies were advised by the Agua Dulce Marshal's Office that the suspect had left Alice headed eastbound on FM 665 possibly towards Aransas Pass.

K9 officer and another officer were able to locate the vehicle and conducted a felony stop on the vehicle as it pulled into the Stripes in Driscoll.

Two subjects were taken into custody and turned over to Alice PD investigators.
