SOUTH TEXAS, TEXAS - (News Release) This past week (10/26/24-11/1/24), Webb, Maverick, and Hidalgo Counties experienced human smuggling events. Texas Department of Public Safety Hidalgo County Brush Team, working alongside US Border Patrol in the Rio Grande Valley, arrested three smuggling guides from Mexico. In Webb County, a State Trooper arrested a smuggler after a lengthy pursuit, which resulted in recovering a child who was being smuggled in the trunk.
