Navy Secretary Visits Kingsville

NAS KINGSVILLE, TEXAS (News Release) – Naval Air Station Kingsville on Tuesday, Oct. 22, hosted Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro. After touring the base’s primary Entry Control Point (ECP) on Gen. Cavazos Boulevard and the base’s main fire station, the secretary held an All Hands Call with sailors assigned to the base.
He told the crowd, “By producing highly skilled naval aviators, TW-2 directly contributes to the readiness and capability of the U.S. Navy, and I cannot thank enough the naval flight students, sailors, instructors, and support staff of Naval Air Station Kingsville for answering the nation’s call to service.”
According to the base’s executive officer, Cmdr. Michael Coppock, “We were very pleased and honored to have the Secretary of the Navy and Congressman Gonzalez to give us their support and spend quality time imparting valuable wisdom with our sailors.”
U.S. Rep. Vicente Gonzalez, who represents the district that includes Kingsville, accompanied the Secretary during the visit. According to the base’s executive officer, Cmdr.
