Annaville Fire Department-Nueces County ESD #1

MATHIS (News Release) - At approximately 1:25pm on Saturday, July 15, 2023, Annaville Fire Department and many other agencies from Nueces County, were dispatched to San Patricio County (Mathis VFD request) for a large fire involving cotton bails and dozens of large crates of hand sanitizer.

Agencies from San Patricio County, Nueces County, Bee County, Live Oak County, Kleberg County, and Goliad County worked diligently to protect the structures adjacent to the fire, which included warehouses full of cotton and cotton seed.

It is estimated that there were at least 150 plus volunteers responded during a 114-degree heat index.
