Rockport Police Department

ROCKPORT, TEXAS - (News Release) For the year 2024, Rockport PD has 30 vehicle burglary cases, 5 which occurred in the past 5 days(9/12-9/17). Nearly every case was an unlocked vehicle. Multiple cases involve firearms which were left in unlocked vehicles

“30 isn’t THAT many cases!” 30 is the cases actually reported, not the total number that have occurred. Reporting ALL vehicle burglaries is important to help RPD identify crime trends and redirect patrol efforts. Simply locking your doors will often prevent you from falling victim to thieves.

Today, September 17th, RPD obtained and executed arrest warrants for two juvenile males believed to have participated in many of the vehicle burglaries. This is encouraging, though it is not the end. Our goal is to ensure there are no more victims, but we will not be successful without your help.

-NEVER LEAVE YOUR KEYS IN YOUR VEHICLE
