CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) - The Corpus Christi Public Libraries will host their first hybrid author meet and greet on Saturday, May 1 at 11:30 a.m. at the La Retama Central Library, 805 Comanche. The hybrid event will feature the book launch on she: robed and wordless by Corpus Christi native Sister Lou Ella Hickman, a widely published poet.

Hickman's book, she: robed and wordless, was published in 2015 as A Tom Lombardo Poetry Selection from Press 53, a notable publishing house. The book details women in the Bible, who encounter grace and sins, joys and sorrows.

"I am excited to see the innovation our libraries are using to reach the community. La Retama Public Library is honored to host Sister Lou Ella Hickman's book launch," Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo said.

The hybrid book launch will be open to only 20 people in person and unlimited virtual attendees through Webex. To attend in-person at La Retama Central Library, an individual must register for seating by calling 361-826-7000. To join virtually, attendees can find the Webex meeting ID and password at cctexas.com/library.
