KINGSVILLE, TEXAS – The Kingsville Police Department made two arrests in connection with multiple burglaries at Oliver’s Jewelry in downtown Kingsville.

In the early hours of Friday, October 18th, officers were dispatched to Oliver’s Jewelry after receiving an alarm alert. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the store’s glass door had been broken, indicating a forced entry. After confirming that no one was inside, officers reviewed store surveillance footage with the manager. The video showed a male suspect, wearing a clown mask, repeatedly kicking the glass door until it shattered. The suspect proceeded to gather boxes of jewelry before fleeing westbound toward 6th Street. Evidence from the store was later found in the 200 block of West Henrietta and the 100 block of West Santa Gertrudis, leading the investigation to focus on 25-year-old Seth Garcia, a resident of Kingsville.

In the early hours of Sunday, October 20th, officers were dispatched to the same store in response to another burglary alarm. Again, the store’s glass door had been broken, and many items were missing. This time, surveillance footage revealed two male suspects, who fled the store in different directions after gathering items. Further investigation identified the suspects as Seth Garcia and his brother, 26-year-old Jacob Garcia. Later that day, Jacob Garcia was arrested on an unrelated warrant and taken to the Kleberg County Jail.

On Monday, October 21st, detectives presented their case to Judge Sonny Gonzalez who signed arrests warrants for Burglary of a Building. Jacob Garcia was already in custody and served his warrant in jail.

On Tuesday, October 22nd, police arrested Seth Garcia on one count of Burglary of a Building after identifying him as a passenger in a vehicle stop. Seth Garcia had several unrelated warrants and remains in custody. Jacob Garcia made bond and was released on Tuesday night.

“We will continue our efforts to protect the businesses and residents of Kingsville,” Chief John Blair said, “the swift arrests in these cases demonstrate the dedication of our officers and our commitment to ensuring public safety.”
