Kingsville Police Officer Wounded

KINGSVILLE - A long time Kingsville Police Officer has been seriously wounded in the line of duty.
Police responded to a domestic call incident on Wanda Street around 5:10 pm and as the officer approached the address he was shot at close range. The Texas Rangers are on the scene investigating the shooting.
According to a KPD press release, there was also a crash that may be related to the incident. The press release also states that while some officers were able to provide aid to the officer, others began a pursuit of the fleeing suspect.
The injured officer has served the of Kingsville and the Kingsville Police Department for 19 years.
