CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) - This Friday, September 3, school-aged kids are invited to pick up their free “KIDS EDITION” COOLING KIT with a personal cooling device along with a fun indoor activity and a snow cone as part of Reliant Energy’s “Beat the Heat” Program. These kits will also include water blasters, water balloons, water bottles, meals & snacks, and additional activities to keep the kids busy throughout the holiday weekend. Kits will be available through curbside pick-up at Lindale Senior Center, 3135 Swantner Drive, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., or while supplies last.

Reliant Energy has partnered with the Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Department for the past 12 years to provide a safe way for Corpus Christi residents to stay cool during the hottest days of summer with its “Beat the Heat” Program.

From now until Saturday, September 18, Reliant Energy and the Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Department will provide a different personal mini cooling product, a fun at-home activity, and a cool snack to residents.

The curbside distribution schedule will be offered on the designated dates, hours, and locations. A limited quantity of 300 kits will be given out, one kit per person, and residents must be present to receive items.

5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.           (Kids Edition Kit)

Saturday, September 18      Oveal Williams Senior Center, 1414 Martin Luther King Drive

11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.       (Family Kit)
