Fugitive Apprehend for Indecency with a Child

HIDALGO (News Release) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations (OFO) at the Hidalgo International Bridge apprehended Dionisio Perez Campos, a male United States citizen from Mission, Texas who had an arrest warrant associated with child-related sex crimes.

“CBP Field Operations is always vigilant in locating those wanted persons with outstanding warrants, especially those allegedly involved in heinous crimes of a sexual nature with children,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Port of Hidalgo/Pharr/ Anzalduas.

On February 4, 2022, the 42-year-old man arrived from Mexico at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge and a CBP officer immediately secured him after discovering Campos was a possible match to an arrest warrant. Once in secondary, biometric verification confirmed his identity along with the active arrest warrant from the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office. Campos had this outstanding warrant stemming from allegations from an incident in August of 2021. He is charged for alleged sex crimes; child fondling and indecency/child, both second-degree felonies.

A Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrived to take custody of Campos and transported him to the county jail.
