Press Release

CORPUS CHRISTI – Beginning Monday, February 1, the Everhart Road Project will require the closure of southbound lanes between South Padre Island Drive (SPID) and Corona Drive. The closure is required to begin the last two phases of the Everhart Road Construction Project.

The traffic flow plan is as follows:

  • Northbound and southbound traffic will be shifted to the northbound lanes (East side of Everhart), from SPID to Curtis Clark Drive.

  • Traffic flow will be reduced to one-lane in each direction.

  • Eastbound and westbound access to Corona Drive will be closed at Everhart Road.

  • Traffic access to/from Corona Drive and Williams Drive will be detoured using Holly Road.

The closure is expected to last approximately four months. Message boards, signage, and detour routes will be put in place to notify motorists of the changes. Safety is the City’s top priority.  Motorists are reminded to be aware of the work zone, follow posted detour signs, or seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
