EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) Border Patrol agents arrest 13 migrants inside two human smuggling stash houses located in Hidalgo County. One of the locations was identified following a vehicle stop which resulted in four more migrant arrests.

On Nov. 17, RGV agents conducted a vehicle stop on a gray Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck near Alamo, Texas. Agents determined all occupants were illegally present in the United States. Further investigation revealed migrants were possibly being harbored within a nearby stash house. Agents with assistance from the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), responded to the residence and apprehended six more migrants illegally present in the United States. The subjects were citizens of Mexico and Honduras. All subjects were taken into Border Patrol custody and processed accordingly.

Hours later, RGV agents received information of a suspected stash house in Weslaco, Texas.  RGV agents along with HCSO deputies, convened at the residence and encountered seven people, determined to be in the United States illegally.  The nationals of Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Ecuador were placed under arrest without incident.
