CORPUS CHRISTI - (News Release) At approximately 8:28 am on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, officers were dispatched to the 6000 block of Ayers Street reference a shooting.
When officers arrived, they located an adult male who had been shot. Responding officers administered life savings measures on scene until medic units arrived, at which point the male was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Through their investigation, Homicide Detectives and Officers followed up on several leads, which allowed them to identify and locate the whereabouts of the suspect.
At approximately 11:37 am, Officers took the suspect into custody.
The suspect will be transported to the main police station to be interviewed, before being transported to the City Detention Center for processing. His identity will be released after he is processed.
Update: 30-year-old Julian Lopez has been arrested and charged with Murder.
