ALICE, TEXAS - (News Release) The City of Alice successfully completed two cycles of mosquito spraying in July and continues to monitor and address mosquito populations through ongoing larviciding and spraying. The city will maintain these efforts until their current cycle is completed.
Additionally, the city has been informed that Jim Wells County, outside the city limits, has detected a mosquito testing positive for West Nile Virus at one of their locations. The City of Alice is committed to supporting the county's vector control efforts while continuing their regular mosquito control activities within the city limits.
The city urge all residents to take precautions to protect themselves from mosquito bites and to eliminate standing water around their homes, which can serve as breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
