EDINBURG (News Release) –Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol (RGV) agents arrest four gang members in two days.

On Nov. 28, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Brownsville Border Patrol Station agents arrested a group of 11 migrants in farmlands after they illegally entered the United States near Brownsville, Texas. Among the group was a citizen of El Salvador later confirmed to be an MS-13 gang member with prior arrests for aggravated theft in his country. The very next day, the McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) agents working in Hidalgo, Texas, arrested another Salvadoran national identified as an active MS-13 gang member.

On Nov. 29, a Mexican national was arrested after he illegally entered the United States near Hidalgo, Texas. Criminal records checks revealed him to be a member of the 18th Street gang. In 2007, the 33-year-old migrant was arrested by the McAllen Police Department for aggravated assault on a public servant. In March 2008, he was convicted and sentenced to 14 years’ confinement.

Two hours later, MCS agents working in Hidalgo, Texas, apprehended a group of 11 migrants after they attempted to evade detection. A Paisa gang member was identified traveling within the group. The 23-year-old Mexican national had more than five removals from the United States.
