Bishop Girls Place at State Powerlifting Meet
BISHOP - The Bishop Badger Girls Powerlifting team attend the Texas High School Women's Powerlifting Association (THSWPA) state meet in Corpus Christi on March 18.

Magali Medrano, Senior at Bishop High School placed third in the Class 3A 148-pound weight class. Medrano lifted a total of 890 pounds – 360 in the squat, 200 in the bench and 330 in the deadlift – to bring home a bronze medal.
Mia Garza, Junior at Bishop High School placed fourth in the Class 3A 132-pound weight class. Garza lifted a total of 810 pounds – 350 in the squat, 160 in the bench and 300 in the deadlift. Her fourth place finish was only 5 pounds from placing third place.
