RGV Agents Arrest Multiple Criminal Illegal Migrants

EDINBURG – (News Release) Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Sector Border Patrol agents arrested four migrants with criminal history.

On March 4, 2022, RGV agents arrested 26 migrants near Hidalgo, Texas. Within the group, agents identified a 32-year-old Honduran national who was previously arrested for assault causing bodily injury to a family member by the Houston Police Department. He was sentenced to 179 days incarceration and was subsequently removed from the United States.

The next day, Harlingen Border Patrol Station agents encountered two Romanian migrants illegally present in the United States, during an immigration inspection at the Valley International Airport. Both males were transported to the station for processing. Records checks on one individual revealed five outstanding warrants out of Arkansas for larceny and burglary. Both subjects were processed accordingly.

Hours later, RGV agents apprehended a group of 23 migrants near La Joya, Texas. During processing, agents discovered that one subject, a Mexican national, had a prior arrest by the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office in 2008.  He was convicted of attempted murder and sentenced to 10 years confinement.

On March 6, 2022, Brownville Border Patrol Station agents arrested  Eduardo Luis Guerrero-Vasquez, a Mexican national, who was encountered with a 15-year-old unaccompanied migrant child near Brownsville, Texas. His criminal history revealed he was previously arrested in Brownsville, Texas, for burglary of habitation intended for sex and sexual assault. The 28-year-old migrant was convicted and sentenced to 180 days’ confinement and 10 years’ probation.

Border Patrol processed all subjects accordingly.
