CORPUS CHRISTI - This week’s Corpus Christi – Nueces County Public Health District vaccine operations at the mega drive thru clinic at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds have concluded. This earlier than initially planned closure is due to the team’s ability to register people and administer the vaccines faster than expected. All 4,000 vaccines allocated to the Health District on Monday of this week were administered shortly after 1:45 p.m. today, Tuesday, January 12.

The Health District will schedule another mega drive thru vaccination clinic at the Borchard Fairgrounds as soon as we have confirmed delivery of additional vaccine doses from the State of Texas which is responsible for all vaccine allocations. It is anticipated the Health District will receive another 4,000 doses on Monday, January 18. If the Health District does receive vaccines on Monday, it will activate another mega vaccination drive on Tuesday, January 19.

The Health District is incorporating lessons learned during this week’s vaccine drive thru into its operational plans going forward.
