CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS - (News Release) The City of Corpus Christi is proud of the exceptional efforts and results of the 2024 Summer Gulf Beach Rescue Team. Through rigorous training and daily conditioning, the 40-person staff made it their top priority to keep visitors safe on the coastal beaches. They patrolled and protected approximately 10 miles of beach. They will remain on duty in lifeguard towers through Labor Day weekend and then transition to mobile patrol only until Memorial Day weekend.

Preventative interactions include any engagement with beach visitors to inform them of the possible hazards of surf conditions. Safety incidents encompass responses to jellyfish stings, stingray injuries, and the provision of minor first aid care.
